Looking back, I guess it did make sense. We were such different people at the time it seemed strange to think we would become best friends. In the beginning, we didn’t all hang out together, and we didn’t always agree with each other. There were several occasions when we truly didn’t get along. Though we hadn’t known each other long, there was something about the five of us that just seemed to fit together. It was like a piece of each of us was exactly the same; a part of each of our hearts that beat together with the same rhythm.
If you’d have told us at the beginning we would be creating something special, I think we would have laughed in your face. We had all come together for one reason and nothing could prepare us for the journey we were about to take. I wish someone would have told me ahead of time so I could have kept a better record of the memories. Unfortunately, life doesn’t have lead-ins or commentary. Life just happens, and that’s exactly what it did in the fall of 2005. It was a new life for all of us, in a new town with new friends and new responsibilities. I guess that’s what college is all about, right?
